This feels like Christmas
Today, i rose earlier than usual because i needed to catch the bus at 8.30 to take me to Life Drawing session at Art Pod, Metchosin. The bus takes to me the door, pretty much , but i was 1 hour early . Problem solved because there is a coffee shop right across the road that also has real. tactile, newspapers to read.
The news was of course pretty grim :about all those pardons for people insighted to storm the US capital that Trump instantly denied involvement. The tariffs on Mexico, Canada and the rest of the world were mentioned as well as the concern about renaming Denali in Alaska . Denali means High Mountain or similar in First Nation speak. so the connection is one that holds memory and significance.
At Life drawing session, one very thoughtful woman with strong connections to the Art Pod, suggested I borrow an easel for 6 months . After the word have gone round the room twice , I was told that of course I could borrow an easel " and would you like these small primed canvas that noone wants?''
We were drawing for a 2 hour session. The model is Amazing!!! i have never had a model hold a pose for more than 20 mins without a break but this woman will sit for1 HOUR without moving even the slightest bit-not even a finger! And she does this with not extra radiant heat or any fuss at all.
During the break a couple spoke to me with a welcome smile and of course, in seconds the "small world " maxim hits into place. We realise that they are good friends of my next door neighbour who is 93 and has a reputation as a supreme yoga instructor.whom I mentioned in an earlier blog So I find myself, as a new-comer, giving these people news of their friend. It felt cosy and like i was in the right place.
my third sighting of the man and 3 corgis, distinctive by the means by which he manages 3 dogs with legs shorter then even considered possible.
driftwood abounds . This one is for Beth. because she has been doing a series of photos on wood grain.

Sounds like a great day! Thanks for continuing to do these daily. The pictures you are posting are gorgeous.
